Spring Leadership Retreat
2008
Retreat Application
What is it?
We will work hard and we will play hard!
The Spring Leadership Retreat
is a weekend immersion experience for up to 40 UMass Amherst
students that are living in the residence halls in spring 2008.
This group of students will share their weekend together participating
in activities and exercises that will help them learn from
each other while growing as people and as leaders. Students
can expect to discuss a variety of topics, some of which include
teambuilding, leadership behaviors, ethical leadership, group
and personal decision making, and communication. All of the
activities will be presented in a way that everyone is an active
participant and learning in a safe and fun environment. There
will be time to bond with others on the retreat and utilize
the recreational areas of the camp.
Students who have not been active in the past will
gain as much as those that have been.
Who can Attend?
Any student living in the residence halls
at UMass Amherst can apply to attend! There are a limited number
of spaces available so it is important to get your application in
by the deadline. Applications are
due by Wednesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. to the Residence Life Resource Center
or emailed to Chris Haigh at chaigh@gw.housing.umass.edu.
The application is available in cluster offices, at the Residence
Life Resource Center and online.
When and Where is it?
April 11-13 at Becket-Chimney Corners
YMCA Camp. We will all travel together and will leave Friday afternoon
and return on Sunday afternoon.
What does it Cost?
NOTHING! The retreat is free for
the 40 students selected to attend and is coordinated and sponsored
by the Residential Leadership Association.
