General Body
The General Body is the heart and soul of
RLA. It is the dedication of our members that determines the success
of our organization.
Who makes up the General Body?
The General Body
is comprised of residents from all 24 clusters across campus.
Each cluster sends one Community Leader to represent
that cluster. Only Community Leaders in good standing can request
CL funding and have voting rights.
What does the General Body do at meetings?
Every
other Tuesday there are general body meetings. Sometimes there
is legislative
business that needs to be addressed, at
which point the general body takes part in voting procedures.
However
this is not done at every meeting. More often, the general
body participates in one of three committee meetings: Public
Relations
Committee, Leadership Development Committee, and Community
Development Committee. Each committee is responsible for it’s
own projects. Each committee member is valued and is able to
openly express creative
ideas that RLA is eager to pursue. The general body works closely
with the executive board members to make sure ideas drawn on
paper come alive.
I’m not a Community Leader but I’m
interested in RLA, can I still come to meetings?
Of course!
RLA wants motivated students who have a genuine desire to grow
in this community. Although you will be unable
to request
funding, you can still represent your cluster by remaining
active in discussions as well as participating in Committee
Meetings.
I don’t have a lot of time, is
RLA a big commitment?
RLA
meets every other Tuesday. Meetings are approximately an hour
long every other week. This organization can help
you
achieve your potential. You will get
out what you put into it.
