Welcome to Pierpont/Moore
Greetings from your Residence Director:
Welcome to Pierpont/Moore, the Residential First Year Experience (RFYE), and Global Thought & Action! My name is Chris McKenzie Willenbrock, and I am the Residence Director (RD) for the Pierpont/Moore Cluster! One of the favorite parts of my job is getting to know all of you who will be living in our cluster for the 2008-2009 academic year. Together, we will make your year in Pierpont/Moore a great one!
Welcome also to Southwest, the largest residential area on campus! Students who live in Southwest have lots of pride both in their area of campus and their individual cluster. Being a part of the Residential First Year Experience (RFYE) and living in Southwest are both amazing opportunities, but with both also comes responsibility. As a Global Thought & Action student in Pierpont/Moore, you will be expected to contribute to making your home a safe, secure, fun, and academically-oriented living environment. There is always so much to do - you will never be bored! Join House Council, apply for a job in the Cluster Office, become a Community Leader, attend an activity, or help put up a bulletin board. This is your new home - get involved and make it yours!
To support you during your time in Pierpont/Moore and Global Thought & Action, our cluster has a dedicated staff here to help with all of your personal and academic needs. Our very talented Residence Life staff consists of 2 Assistant Residence Directors (ARDs), 1 Cluster Office Manager (COM), 15 Resident Assistants (RAs), and 6 Peer Mentors (PMs). All of the staff are here to make sure you and the entire community are having a positive living experience. Make sure you get to know your RA and PM - they will both be valuable resources for you during your year!
Additionally, as part of the Residential First Year Experience (RFYE), we are very fortunate to have a First Year Experience Specialist (FYES), Alexa Mignano, and a Residential Learning Graduate Assistant (RLGA), Louis Proietti, who provide direction for many of the academic initiatives that take place in Pierpont/Moore.
They also work with our Peer Mentors (PMs), upper-class students who live on every floor and are here to promote and support academic success in the residence halls through activities, study groups, and individual conversations. Our FYES, RLGA, and the PM staff will be amazing resources to you during your first year of college. Their offices are located on the first floor of Pierpont so stop by and say hello!
As the RD, I not only work here in Pierpont/Moore, but I live here as well. My apartment and office are both located on the first floor of Pierpont, so feel free to drop with questions, concerns, or just to chat!
