will have laundry facility, mailboxes, meeting room, and a common
area/lounge. The North Area will have a residential area office where
staff will provide direct services to students, such as access for
keys, packages, equipment, and other residence life services.
Occupancy
Period
Students can live in the
apartments for a nine-month period. The apartments will open the
Sunday prior to the first day of classes in September and close the
last day of finals for Spring semester. Students will have the advantage
of staying in the apartments during Thanksgiving, Wintersession,
and Spring Breaks.
Application
and Assignment Process
Undergraduate students living
in university residence halls and on a university sponsored exchange/internship
will have the first opportunity to submit applications for university
apartments. All students are eligible for placement in apartments.
Students seeking placement in the North Residential Area Apartments
will not have to submit to the leasing process that off-campus landlords
require. To learn more about the Application
and Assignment Process click
here.
Co-Ed
Option for Undergraduate Apartments
Students will be able to
form co-ed groups and apply for an apartment. There will be an additional
application process to confirm students’ willingness to live
in a co-ed apartment. The Housing Assignment Office reserves the
right to consolidate students into single sex apartments if an original
occupant departs/cancels their assignment.
Rental Rate
and Payment Schedule
The rate for the North apartments
is included in our 2007-2008 room rates for the academic semester
and will be billed through the Bursars’ Office. Students who
have an assignment in the apartment complex they will be subject
to the same cancellation fee schedule as students living in the residence
halls.
Cooking and
Dining
The Worcester Convenience
Store will offer products comparable to other local grocery stores
including deli, meat, and bakery items, fresh produce, and household
products. Dining Services has created a meal plan for students living
in the North Area Apartments. The cost of this meal plan can be found
on the Dining
Services web page.
This meal plan is optional for students who are juniors or seniors.
Sophomores or freshmen who choose to apply are required to choose
a meal plan.
