Welcome to Gorman/Wheeler!
Greetings from your Residence Director:
Welcome to Gorman and Wheeler Halls! My name is Christopher Hughbanks and I am the Residence Director (RD) for this two building cluster. We have an awesome staff team here to assist you, including 1 Assistant Residence Director (ARD), 17 Resident Assistants (RAs), and 1 Cluster Office Manager (COM). We are all excited to provide a living environment that is safe, inclusive, respectful, and a positive compliment to your academic endeavors.
It is my hope that you will take advantage of the numerous programs and leadership opportunities we have in the cluster. There are tons of ways to get involved! There’s the Nuance Advisory Board, a multicultural programming committee for Gorman residents, as well as the Gorman/Wheeler House Council. Contact me if you are interested learning more about these groups and keep an eye out for advertisements and applications in the cluster this fall. Gorman Hall residents also have an opportunity to take a 2-credit class called Toltec, offered as part of the Nuance Multicultural Living Learning Community. It’s a class that focuses on social justice and diversity education. Email me to get an application for the course.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via email or visit my office in Gorman 131. I live and work in the cluster and am excited about the Fall 2009-Spring 2010 Year. This cluster is a vibrant, active, and an exciting living-learning community full of pride. I hope you will enjoy your time living here!
