Welcome to Gorman Wheeler!
Greetings from your Residence Director:
WELCOME
TO GORMAN/WHEELER! My name is Pamela Roy and I am the Residence
Director (RD). We have an awesome team including: 1 Assistant
Residence Director (ARD), 17 Resident Assistants (RAs), and 1
Cluster Office Manager (COM). This year we are all excited to
provide an environment that is safe, inclusive, respectful, and
that you will soon come to call your home.
The staff is here
to assist you with any questions; get to know them – they
are approachable and friendly! It is my hope that you will take
advantage of our numerous programs – just
be on the look out for advertisements. I hope you continue to participate
in our traditions; ask your RA about how you can earn Cluster Bucks
and get great prizes. You also have an opportunity to take a 2-credit
course called Toltec, offered only to Gorman students as part of
living in Nuance Multicultural Living Learning Community. It is
a class that focuses on social justice and diversity education;
we go to NYC during the fall semester and have great dialogue on
various “isms” each week in class. Look for a forthcoming
email from me that will include an application for the course.
I am here to support you! I have lived in Gorman
as the RD for 3 years and I am excited about year 4! Once you arrive
on campus
feel free to stop by my office, which is located on the first floor
of Gorman, room 131, and say hi! I love everything about this cluster,
particularly it’s pride and sense of community, and I hope
you will enjoy your time in lower Central!
