Welcome to Brett/Brooks!
Greetings from your Residence Director:
Welcome! We are excited that you will be living
in Brett/Brooks for this academic year. You can look forward to
an enriching experience where you will be meeting other individuals
with exciting talents and backgrounds. When you arrive on campus
and check-in, you will meet some of our Resident Assistants (RAs).
Those RAs will continue to be resources for you throughout the
year. They have planned many activities for you so that you can
build connections with other students in your community. Please
know that the Brett/Brooks staff is here as a resource that will
help you connect with UMass Amherst in order to promote your academic
experience. Please do not hesitate to ask us any questions!
My name
is Sammy Tabari. As the Residence Director (RD) of Brett/Brooks,
I am here to address any concerns you may have. I am always happy
to answer your questions and help you benefit from your experience
at UMass Amherst. I can provide you with academic and career
advice, give you information about University resources, and tell
you about
campus jobs that can help build your resume! Once you arrive
on campus you can contact me by stopping by my office, located
on
the first floor of Brett Hall, room 113A. I look forward to meeting
you!

Greetings from your ARD
Hello Brett/Brooks students! My name is Dylan
Larke. I am your Assistant Residence Director (ARD) for the Brett/Brooks
cluster. I am a doctoral student in the Language Culture and Literacy
program. Part of my responsibility as an ARD is to assist Sammy,
the RD, in the general management of the Brett/Brooks cluster.
I also advise the House Council and Community Leaders in the cluster.
My office is located on the first floor of Brett Hall, room 114,
so please swing by and say hello once you arrive on campus. I look
forward to meeting you!
Brett/Brooks’ diverse environment
represents a community in which students have the opportunity to
live and learn. We emphasize
participation and involvement on the part of every student in designing
and executing programs, as well as building a living and learning
community. One benefit of putting students first, for example,
has been the active recruitment and participation of mixed groups
of first-year and returning students in providing leadership roles
as Community Leaders and House Council Officers. Please consider
joining one of them.
Welcome to Brett/Brooks! Have a great and productive
year!
