Parking
If you bring a car to campus, be sure
to familiarize yourself with the parking and traffic regulations
issued by the Parking Services Offices. To obtain a copy of the regulations,
call 545-0065 or visit the Parking
Services website.
Parking is allowed only in designated
areas. Unless you park at a meter or in the parking garage, you must
register with Parking Services and purchase a parking permit. The
permit will be issued for your specific car and will be valid only
in a specific location.
Overnight parking restrictions are in
effect in many parking lots from December 1 to April 1 to facilitate
snow removal. Parking regulations are strictly enforced. Parking
tickets must be paid within 21 days or you will be assessed additional
penalties.
Motorcycles
If you bring a motorcycle, motor-driven
cycle, or motorized pedicycle to campus, you must register with Parking
Services and purchase a parking permit that will be valid only in
designated areas. You may not store motorized vehicles inside living
quarters at any time. Nor may you place them in any other interior
space in the residence halls.
Bicycles
You may have a bicycle on campus, but
be aware that only some of the residence halls have bicycle storage
areas. You may keep your bicycle in your room, but you will be billed
for any damage to the room or furniture resulting from storing the
bicycle.
You may not chain your bicycle to stair
railing, pipes, or other fixtures in common areas. If you store a
bicycle in an unauthorized area, it may be removed by Environmental
Health and Safety or Housing Services personnel.
Escort
Service
The Department
of Public Safety provides an escort service, during the academic
year, for all members of the University community and campus visitors.
Walking escorts will be provided to and from all areas of campus
every night from 7:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.
Call 545-2123 (Escort Service)
or 545-2121 (Police Dispatch) to request a walking escort.
