Getting
Involved
Area Government
Area Governments are responsible for providing programming and community development for each of our residential areas. Area Governments in the past have presented a wide
range of programs including concerts, carnivals, BBQs, outdoor dances,
and karaoke events.
Each Area Government consists of a minimum
of a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary and Treasurer. These
positions are elected in the Spring with remaining position openings
filled early in the fall.
Area Governments receive funding from
the Student Activities Trust Fund (SATF) each year. This is normally
increased through fundraising and petitioning the Student Government
Association (SGA) Senate for additional funds. The money is spent
primarily on community programming, with some money allocated for
administrative overhead.
