MinuteMovers…

Selection process for Fall 2008 has begun!

MinuteMovers Application

Selection Timeline

April 7 - Applications available in cluster offices or online
April 14-25 - Cluster information sessions (check with your cluster office)
May 5 - Priority deadline. The only exception is for students still participating in online room selection after May 5. The deadline for these students is May 12 by noon. All applications are due to the cluster office where you will be living in the Fall.
April 30-May 9 - Interviews with cluster staff and student leaders
May 9 - Notification letters sent
May 14 - Contracts due to the cluster office where you will be living in the Fall

What is a MinuteMover?

  • Assist with getting the cluster ready prior to opening
  • Assist professional staff and other student leaders in various ways during opening
  • Assist with opening week programs as needed for the cluster
  • Have fun and show your school and cluster spirit

Responsibilities of a MinuteMover

  • Provide a welcoming environment within your cluster
  • Return to campus early
  • Participate in MinuteMover Training
  • Create informational signs and welcome posters to be placed throughout the cluster for opening
  • Decorate the cluster and make it a welcoming environment
  • Act as a member of the cluster team during move-in and opening
  • Assist with opening week programming in the cluster
  • Assist in gathering residents to attend events during First Week
  • Meet with new residents to answer questions

  • Free T-shirt and free meals during your early arrival
  • Early Arrival fee is waived
  • Gain valuable experience as a leader
  • Building connections with other student leaders
  • Develop understanding about other cluster opportunities such as the Community Leaders and House Council!
  • Have the opportunity to make a difference in your community

Placement of MinuteMovers

All MinuteMovers will be placed to assist in the cluster in which they will be living during the Fall semester.

If a students room assignment changes over the summer, that student will be reassigned as a MinuteMover to their new cluster.

Exceptions may be made by the Leadership Development Specialist over the summer based on assistance need in each cluster.
