Application Dates
The housing preference application for newly admitted students will be available on SPIRE November 15, 2009 - January 3, 2010. All applicants will receive an Assignment Notice on SPIRE on Monday, January 11, 2010.
Late Admits and Late Applicants
Newly admitted students who miss the housing application may come to the Housing Assignment Office located at 235 Whitmore for a walk-in assignment. These students should follow these steps to prepare for a walk-in assignment:
1. Sign the Residence Hall Contract on SPIRE
2. Submit the Housing Profile on SPIRE
3. Request an appointment on SPIRE for the "Spring 2010 Walk-In Process" between January 4th and January 14th. This is not an actual appointment for Online Room Selection; rather, it makes us aware of your intent to come for a walk-in assignment on opening day.
4. Come to the Housing Assignment Office for an assignment on opening Sunday, January 17th. The office will open at 8:30am. We will start handing out tickets in line at 7:45am. Students may come for their walk-in assignment throughout the day. The office will close at 6:00pm.
Students who pick up an assignment as a Walk-in are subject to the cancellation fee schedule outlined below.

The student who has signed the housing contract must contact the Housing Assignment Office at 413-545-2100 to request a cancellation of the contract, application and/or the assignment.
Please note: Contacting another department on campus including the Admission's Office and the Registrar's Office does not constitute a cancellation request. As stated in the residence hall contract, the student must contact the Housing Assignment Office directly by calling 413-545-2100 and requesting a cancellation.
Students Needing Medical Accomodations
Students who require accommodations due to mobility or other disabilities should contact Disability Services at 413-545-0892 for assistance and additional information, as all such students must first register with Disability Services in order to qualify for services. Disability Services and the Housing Assignment Office will work with otherwise qualified students to accommodate their needs. The University has a practice of relocating programs and activities when necessary to make the programs and activities accessible to persons with disabilities.
