Fall 2009 Opening Information
Students may check into the residence halls for the fall 2009 semester either on Sunday, September 6th or Monday, September 7th between 9:00am-9:00pm. Students who wish to arrive early should refer below for designated dates and times as well as the fees associated with doing so.
Students may also check in on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 (first day of classes) during regular cluster office hours: 10:00am-1:00pm & 2:00pm- 5:00pm.
Students who plan on arriving after 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 must contact the Housing Assignment Office at 413.545.2100 to request a late arrival. Students who do not request a late arrival or check in by 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 8 will be reported to the Housing Assignment Office and their Fall 2009 assignment will be cancelled. Please Note: Students should plan their travel times and dates based on the information provided as no exceptions will be made to students arriving on dates not designated for early arrival or regular check-in.
Early Arrivals
To request an early arrival, call the Housing Assignment Office at 413-545-2100. Prior arrangement for early arrival status will ensure a smooth check-in and card access to your assigned hall. The early arrival fee is $50.00 per night and will be billed to your bursar account after check-in.
Arrival times for Fall 2009 and fees are:
• Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm ($150.00 early arrival fee)
• Friday, September 4, 2009 from 11:00am - 5:00pm ($100.00 early arrival fee)
• There are no Saturday check-ins, all cluster offices will be closed!
All students who arrive early are subject to Housing and University policies upon their check-in.
Late Arrivals and Failure to Check-In
Students who plan to arrive after 5:00pm on September 8, 2009 must request a late arrival status by notifying the HAO. Students who fail to arrive by 5:00pm on September 8, 2009 will have their fall assignment cancelled as a no-show. No-show cancellations are subject to the cancellation fee of $450.
Thanksgiving Recess Closing Information
All undergraduate Residence Halls except 9 month facilities will close at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 and will re-open at 10:00am on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above as no exceptions will be made for students to remain in the residence halls.
Fall 2009 Closing Information
All undergraduate Residence Halls except 9 month facilities will close at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 19, 2009. Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above as no exceptions will be made for students to remain in the residence halls.
Spring 2010 Opening Information
Students may check into the residence halls for the spring 2010 semester either on Sunday, January 17th between 9:00am-9:00pm or Monday, January 18th between 12pm-4pm and 7pm-11pm. Students who wish to arrive early should refer below for designated dates and times as well as the fees associated with doing so.
Students may also check in on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 (first day of classes) during regular cluster office hours: 10:00am-1:00pm & 2:00pm- 5:00pm.

Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above as no exceptions will be made for students to remain in the residence halls.
Spring 2010 Closing Information
All undergraduate Residence Halls except 9 month facilities will close at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 13, 2010. Students participating in Undergraduate Commencement will be granted permission to stay through 6:00pm on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Additional information about permission to stay will be emailed to graduating seniors and commencement workers in late April.
