The dates and procedures for check in and check out are important. Students and their families should plan their arrival and the departures according to information provided below.

Spring 2008 Closing Information
The residence halls will close for the semester at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 22, 2008. Students participating in Undergraduate Commencement will be granted permission to stay through 6:00pm on Saturday, May 24, 2008. Additional information about permission to stay will be emailed to graduating seniors and commencement workers in early May.
Fall 2008 Opening Information
Students may check into the residence halls for the fall 2008 semester between 10:00am-9:00pm on Sunday, August 31, 2008 or Monday, September 1, 2008. Students who wish to arrive early should refer below for designated dates and times as well as the fees associated with doing so. Students may also check in on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 (first day of classes) during regular cluster office hours: 10:00am-1:00pm & 2:00pm- 5:00pm. Students who plan on arriving after 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 must contact the Housing Assignment Office at 413.545.2100 to request a late arrival.

Early Arrivals
To request an early arrival, call the Housing Assignment Office at 413-545-2100. Prior arrangement for early arrival status will ensure a smooth check-in and card access to your assigned hall. The early arrival fee is $50.00 per night and will be billed to your bursar account after check-in.
Arrival times for Fall 2008 and fees are:
• Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm ($150.00 early arrival fee)
• Friday, August 29, 2008 from 11:00pm - 5:00pm ($100.00 early arrival fee)
• There are no Saturday check-ins, all cluster offices will be closed!
All students who arrive early are subject to Housing and University policies upon their check-in.
Late Arrivals and Failure to Check-In
Students who plan to arrive after 5:00pm on September 2, 2008 must request a late arrival status by notifying the HAO. Students who fail to arrive by 5:00pm on September 2, 2008 will have their fall assignment cancelled as a no-show. No-show cancellations are subject to the cancellation fee of $450 as well the improper check out fee schedule.

All undergraduate Residence Halls except 9month facilities will close at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 and will re-open at 10:00am on Sunday, November 30, 2008. Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above as no exceptions will be made for students to remain in the residence halls.

All undergraduate Residence Halls except 9 month facilities will close at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 20, 2008 and will re-open for Spring 2009 at 10:00am on Sunday, January 25, 2009. Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above as no exceptions will be made for students to remain in the residence halls.
Spring 2009 Opening Information
Students may check into the residence halls for the spring 2009 semester between 10:00am-9:00pm on Sunday, January 25, 2009. Students who wish to arrive early should refer below for designated dates and times as well as the fees associated with doing so. Students may also check in on Monday, January 26 (first day of classes) and Tuesday, January 27 during regular cluster office hours: 10:00am-1:00pm & 2:00pm- 5:00pm.
