Room Assignment Information

Residence Hall Opening and Closing

Thanksgiving 2013 Closing Information

All undergraduate Residence Halls except Break Housing Halls, North Area Apartments and Lincoln Apartments will close at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November, 27th, 2013 and will re-open at 10:00am on Sunday, December 1, 2013. Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above. Students who have not vacated their Residence Hall by 6:00pm will be assessed a $150 Unauthorized Occupancy fee. Students who require on campus housing over the break period should contact the Student Services Office at (413) 545-2100.

Fall 2013 Closing Information

All Residence Halls except Break Housing Halls, North Area Apartments and Lincoln Apartments will close at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 14th, 2013. Students and families should make plans for departure based on this closing date and time. Students who have not vacated their Residence Hall by 12:00pm will be assessed a $150 Unauthorized Occupancy fee. Students who are returning for Spring 2014 are not required to turn in their key. Students should find a safe space to store their key for when the return. Students who are not returning for Spring 2014 must check out of their room by removing their belongings from the space and turning in their key to the Residential Service Desk prior to the above closing time. Spring 2014 Opening Information

Students may check into the residence halls for the spring 2014 semester on Sunday, January 19th between 9:00am-9:00pm. Students may also check in on Monday, January 20th, 2014 from 12:00pm-11:00pm. Students returning to the same room are expected to complete a Spring Check-In on SPIRE prior by no later than Tuesday, January 21st. Students moving in to a new assignment must sign the key agreement and make a spring Move-In Reservation.

Students who plan on arriving after 5:00pm on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 must contact the Student Services Office at (413) 545-2100 to request a late arrival. Students who do not request a late arrival or check in by 5:00pm on Tuesday, January 21nd, 2014 will be reported to the Student Services Office and their spring 2013 assignment will be cancelled. Early Arrivals
Students who would like to move in early for spring semester may do so on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 11:00am-5:00pm. The cost to arrive early for spring semester is $50 per night for a total of $100. There are NO Saturday arrivals. To request an early arrival for spring, please call Residential Life Student Services at 413.545.2100.

Please Note: Students should plan their travel times and dates based on the information provided as no exceptions will be made to students arriving on dates not designated regular check-in.

Spring 2014 Break Closing Information

All undergraduate Residence Halls except Break Housing Halls, North Area Apartments and Lincoln Apartments will close at 6:00pm on Friday, March 14, 2014 and will re-open at 10:00am on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Students who have not vacated their Residence Hall by 6:00pm will be assessed a $150 Unauthorized Occupancy fee. Students and families should make plans for departure based on the dates and times above. Students who require on campus housing over the break period should contact Residential Life Student Services at (413) 545-2100.

Spring 2014 Closing Information

All undergraduate Residence Halls will close at 6:00pm on Thursday May 8, 2014. Students and families should make plans for departure based on this closing date and time. Graduating seniors and students assisting with commencement will receive information on how to request permission to stay late during the spring 2014 semester. Students who did not receive permission to stay late and have not vacated their Residence Hall by 6:00pm on May 8, 2014 will be assessed a $150 Unauthorized Occupancy fee.
